Why Assembly Member Jerry Petrowski is the Wisconsin GOP’s Best Choice Against the Left
| March 17, 2012 | Posted by JerriCook under Legal Issues, Rural Issues |
Before Wisconsin Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald decides that Representative Mary Williams should be replacement for Pam Galloway in the upcoming recall election, he might want to consider Assembly Member Jerry J. Petrowski’s credentials, which are far more impressive than those of Williams. A cursory look at Project Vote Smart reveals that Petrowski is a dedicated public servant and a steadfast conservative. His military service and strong commitment to his entire community (not just the privileged few who will heap unwarranted praise on him) is apparent even at first blush. The Democratic oppo teams aren’t going to find much on him, but I promise you they’ll have a hay day with Williams, and in so doing expose several other RINOs who take party money and then behave like tyrants. I almost gagged. Not because of the low-carb beer I was sampling, but because the Wisconsin GOP is considering running Mary Williams of Medford in the wake of Pam Galloway’s resignation. Galloway was targeted by the whiny teacher’s unions and was facing a recall election this spring. On Friday evening, the reports that she would resign started leaking out. Then, the claim that that Mary Williams, certified RINO and elitist snob was being considered for Galloway’s seat. Hold on there Wisconsin GOP. You might want to reconsider. (more…)
Small Town Revenge and Your Right to Remain Silent

The Taylor County Airport manager has been charged with theft. He really should’ve seen this coming. That’s one thing that strikes me about outsiders around here–they really believe the age-old small-town meme that spawned Mayberry RFD. And as inevitably happens, they find out the hard way that Taylor County, Wisconsin, is more like Stephen King’s Derry than good ol’ Mayberry. Sheriff Andy and Aunt Bea don’t live anywhere near here.
James Wood is a whistle blower. He caught the locals trying to siphon off millions of dollars of taxpayer money by fraudulently claiming the Taylor County Airport has over 7,500 flights a year. Wow. We’re a metropolis. Who knew? In reality, the number of flights in and out of here is around 800 per year, and almost all of that traffic is Weathershield and Nestle executives and local owners of small aircraft. (more…)
An Interview With Dr. Alan Keyes
| December 26, 2011 | Posted by JerriCook under Education, Rural Issues |
[ Note: This post first appeared in October of 2008 on the former RFD America website. Given the lack of enthusiasm for any of the "official" GOP media candidates, I thought I'd re-post this interview. Again, my thanks to Dr. Keyes for his time and his insight.]
RFD America: Please describe your relationship with the rural community.
Dr. Keyes: I have a lot of good support in rural areas because of the things I stand for— freedom and liberty —these are fundamental principles in rural America. I’ve been concerned over the years about many issues facing rural people. Everyone has been talking about restoring the rural landscape for decades; but instead of creating policy to help these Americans, the government has been systematically destroying their livelihoods.
RFD America: What is your opinion on the proposed national animal identification system?
Dr. Keyes: To me it is a simple issue the government needs to take steps to manage itself first we need border security to stop disease from coming into our country deal with the problems instead of neglecting the integrity of America s crops and livestock Washington s open borders policy has left us exposed so what do these politicians do they tell us that to handle their ineptitudes they have no choice but to assault the liberty of our citizens by destroying private rural enterprise the notion that we have to sacrifice our liberty to safeguard our food supply is repugnant. Five reasons to avoid seed bank scams

Should you buy seeds so you can grow some, if not all, of your own food? Yes. Should you buy seeds from the charlatans advertising emergency seed kits? Absolutely not. I’ve seen these ridiculous ads claiming that for $79.00-$149.00 you can get enough seeds to grow a whole acre of food. There are so many things wrong with this. Where should I start? (more…)
Wisconsin lawmakers push to legalize raw milk sales

For those of us who live here, the last few weeks in Wisconsin have been difficult. A rent-a-mob held our State legislature hostage for nearly three weeks. Over-privileged and under-educated brats at the UW Madison campus threw a temper tantrum that garnered national attention, and cost Wisconsin taxpayers a fortune. But, while the children were pitching a tizzy, the grownups were at work doing their job, and because of these dedicated Wisconsin legislators, it may soon be legal for farmers to sell raw milk to consumers.
